March 26-28, 2012 3-day workshop $375 (model fee additional)
Drawing with the Renaissance & Dutch Golden Age Masters: Live Anatomy.
This drawing class is modeled after the works and concepts of the Renaissance and Dutch Golden Age Masters, skilled craftspersons who understood the secrets of transforming atmosphere into line and analytical knowledge into visual poetry.
Through live in classroom demonstrations, and by using reproductions of the masters, students will be taught how to create movement, eye rhythm, mass, and line . Students will become skilled in determining correct proportions, measurements, and the use of light and shade to create dimensional effects. Working with live models for figure and portrait, students will draw with the masters’ tools like red and white chalk. Students will learn to cut reed pens in class and to draw with quills and sepia washes.
Fallik will teach Anatomy of the Human Body by seeing body paint on live models, demonstrating in class the surface anatomy in different body positions.
This class is for serious students who are willing to do some optional work at home in addition to class work.
