Tempera/Ink Resist
Class Description: Tempera resist is a process whereby built-up layers of tempera act as a resist when black india ink is brushed on. Paper left white (edges-borders-shapes) become black. The image retains color and some ink. After drying, the base image can then be enhanced further with black Sharpies, more tempera, acrylic, watercolor, or pastels. The image is kept quite simple deliberately. The resulting painting is rich in color and texture.

Statement: "God has given the artist a talent to "see" more than others; not just to "look" but to see color, shape, dark and light, textures. It is this talent that I, as an artist, enjoy sharing with others. I am in love with the excitement of painting and delighted with the ability to make decisions and create. There are many kinds of artists, but without the viewer, our paintings are all in vain."
