| NEW SATURDAY CLASS
Oct. 7, 14, 21, 2006 Acrylic--A Painterly Approach Rick Wheeler This workshop will cover the use of acrylics in a loose, painterly approach, similar to what you might see with the use of oils. Due to the quick drying time of acrylics, indoor studio landscape and wildlife painting will be the focus. Due to copyright issues, the instructor advises you to bring a photo or two of your own, or someone's who you have permission to use. The instructor will also provide photo resources of his own for student use. The workshop will focus on interpreting a photo, not copying it. This involves using color and brush strokes in an individualistic, expressive way. Though realism will be the emphasis, the instructor encourages a loose, even abstract use of the medium for those interested. The instructor will provide demos, as well as one-on-one time with each student. Weather permitting, we may spend some time outside painting en plein air. 10:00am-4:00pm $225 ($75 per diem) bring a brown bag lunch and enjoy the outdoor facilities during your break.
